We are looking for SAP S4 Production Planning - Expert Lead and SAP S4 PP Expert to be part of a complex, global migration to SAP S/4HANA. This role leads and coordinates the SAP PP functional stream within a high-pressure environment, manages multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, and ensures end-to-end production planning process alignment across a global landscape. This role requires a blend of deep functional expertise in SAP PP (ECC & S/4HANA) and strong technical understanding of the SAP platform, enabling the consultant to produce high-quality functional specifications, review and assess SAP Notes, and collaborate effectively with ABAP and integration teams. It also requires knowledge of S/4HANA extensibility principles, including Clean Core strategy, released APIs, and standard enhancement frameworks to ensure custom developments align with SAP best practices and long-term upgradeability. Responsibilities End-to-End Migration Leadership: Lead the full lifecycle of the S/4HANA migration, ensuring Best Practice adoption while managing complex legacy technical debt. Team Orchestration: Directly manage PP Functional teams to ensure custom code remediation and interface stability (20-40 developers). Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with C-suite executives and local site leads in a global company. Landscape Complexity: Manage multi-tier landscapes, coordinating global templates with local requirements. Performance Under Pressure: Maintain project velocity and team morale under tight deadlines and high accountability. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in IT management or related field. Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the SAP ecosystem. Proven Track Record: At least 2 full-lifecycle S/4HANA migrations (Brownfield, Greenfield, or Selective Data Transition). Deep experience in Manufacturing, specifically within Building Materials or Mining sectors (understanding supply chain is critical). Technical Literacy: Strong background in managing PP cycles and complex system integrations (BTP). Languages: English (C1-C2), Spanish (Native). Home-office allowed, upon request to direct report. Global Mindset: Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones and cultures. Resilience: Ability to remain composed and decisive under extreme project pressure. Collaboration: A team-first mentality with the ability to break down silos between functional and technical workstreams. Technical Competences S/4HANA Modern Development Paradigm and transition from ECC to S/4HANA Manufacturing best practices (MRP Live, PPDS, IBP, Digital Manufacturing). Strong understanding of CDS Views and S/4HANA Embedded Analytics for real-time manufacturing reporting and standard analytical content usage. Design manufacturing processes and reporting models leveraging HANA in-memory capabilities for high-volume transactions. Guide the adoption of SAP Fiori apps for Manufacturing, ensuring an intuitive user experience with role-based access and standard SAP UX principles. Migration & Remediation Strategy: Expertise in tools bridging old and new systems; PP test strategy definition (SIT, UAT, Regression, Integration). Data Migration Cockpit (SMC) and LTMC concepts; staging tables for large-scale data ingestion. Simplification List awareness to predict how standard process changes affect custom code. Integration & Extensibility under SAP S/4HANA Clean Core, governance of integrations with FI, SD, MM, QM and external systems using standard APIs, IDocs, and event-based integration. SAP BTP: Side-by-Side Extensibility for custom apps outside the core ERP. Integration Suite / CPI: Understanding iFlows, API Management, and Event Mesh for real-time data exchange with MES/IoT in mining. Legacy Protocols: ALE/IDoc, RFC, and BAPIs for integrating with older manufacturing equipment. gCTS (Git-enabled CTS) for modern transport processes; Performance Tuning with ST05 and SAT. Work Conditions Overtime may be required to meet critical issues, deadlines, and SLAs. Sitting for extended periods; ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, meetings, and project rollouts. Travel will be required for client meetings and off-site project activities. Tools & Methodologies: SAP Activate, Agile Methodologies, SAP Solution Manager / SAP Readiness Check 2.0, Simplification Item Catalog, SAP Cloud ALM for governance, testing and release management. Knowledge of Project Management (not necessarily PMP certified). Strong functional proficiency in SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing tools and platforms relevant to ECC to S/4HANA migrations, including Readiness Check, Custom Code Migration, S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, Fiori Apps Library for Manufacturing, and Embedded Analytics; understanding of SAP HANA and BTP to define requirements for reporting, compliance, analytics, and side-by-side extensions, aligned with Clean Core and upgrade safety.
