Application Development What You’ll Do Understand current and future business data needs to help shape and guide data strategy Set and enforce strategic and tactical data architecture patterns Define technical direction for selecting and implementing data technologies Evaluate and support planning for current and future team/staffing needs Establish and promote standards and best practices as the data ecosystem evolves Drive the development of new data capabilities and data-driven offerings Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines Integrate data platforms and services across the Azure ecosystem Optimize data processing performance, cluster configurations, and cost efficiency Implement data governance, access control, lineage, and security practices Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data workflows and infrastructure Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to support AI/ML workloads What You’ll Bring Strong experience across the full data lifecycle, including ingestion, transformation, and modeling (ETL/ELT) Experience designing and architecting enterprise-scale data platforms Hands-on experience working with large datasets and database systems Experience with cloud-based data technologies, particularly within Azure Proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL Experience with modern data tools such as Spark, Delta Lake, and workflow orchestration Experience with Azure DevOps and building CI/CD pipelines Strong understanding of data storage, compute, orchestration, and reporting layers Experience with data warehousing approaches and data modeling techniques Familiarity with data lake architectures and processing patterns Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and initiative Ability to plan, track, and manage project work and resources effectively Improving welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life, and this is reflected in our largely diverse community of Improvers.
