Position Summary The Senior Recruiter is responsible for recruiting all positions within the assigned business unit, including supervisory/management roles in Shipboard Operations. The role reports directly to the Director, Shipboard Recruiting and operates from the Mexico City office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for internally and externally recruiting all positions within the assigned business unit, up to and including Leadership/Manager level roles. Collaborate with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to review and understand forecasted talent needs and respond to just‑in‑time requests. Manage sourcing tactics to proactively develop talent pools aligned with business needs. Actively source passive candidates using sourcing tools, Boolean searches, networking, referrals, and cold‑calling techniques. Maintain recruitment SOPs, documentation, and system updates in real time. Compile a potential candidate long‑list, conduct competency‑based telephone/Skype interviews, and shortlist best‑fit candidates for hiring leaders. Compile metrics and prepare reports that measure recruiting effectiveness, staffing processes, and sourcing strategies. Host presentations and training sessions for hiring leaders as needed. Stay current with recruiting and market trends and adjust recruiting strategy accordingly. Provide new‑recruiter and refresher training to the recruitment team as needed. Perform any other job‑related duties assigned by the supervisor or management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or the international equivalent. Minimum 5 years of successful recruitment experience within a large, global organization; recruiting for Shared Services or Hospitality Industry required. Experience in volume/bulk recruiting a plus. Proven expertise with HR databases, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Candidate Management Systems (CMS). Ability to manage small‑to‑medium scale projects, ensuring timely and on‑budget completion. Demonstrated capability to recruit positions at all organizational levels (entry to senior). Full‑cycle recruitment skills: source, interview, and screen candidates for management, specialty, and high‑volume roles. Strong interviewing and talent assessment skills; ability to further organisational business and employee performance objectives. Judgement in ambiguous or out‑of‑policy situations; meticulous attention to detail and confidentiality handling. Analytical skills: define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, solve complex problems, and analyze large datasets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—tactful verbal and written communication; ability to influence leaders, manage relationships, and collaborate with stakeholders. Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices. Knowledge of recruitment processes in multiple countries. Negotiation skills for terms and conditions within established guidelines. Strict compliance with company processes, procedures, and regulations. Social media savvy—strong SEO understanding; collaborate with Recruitment Marketing to boost digital posts with keywords. Ability to work productively under tight time constraints and in stressful situations. Travel may be required. English proficiency: reading, writing, speaking—understand and interpret written procedures, give/receive instructions, and present information to management and shipboard employees. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of accepted human resource practices and all applicable employment laws and fair‑treatment regulations. Understanding of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship and the shipboard organization structure. Knowledge of world geography, time differences, and demographics. Consistent dedication to candidates, hiring managers, and the broader team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially strong Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail. Proven experience with Applicant Tracking Systems. Prior work with PeopleSoft or other HRIS/ERP systems preferred. Physical Demands The role requires typical office tasks: sitting, standing, writing, reviewing, typing reports, compiling data, operating a PC, communicating, listening, and assessing information. Employees may move around the office complex, travel to other office locations, and lift, push, pull, or move 10–15 pounds. Occasional walking to the dock and ascending/descending a vessel may be required. Regular domestic or international travel is also possible. Visual demands include distant, close, and color vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
