Purpose of Position The Director, Shared Services Center (SSC) – Accounting will provide enterprise leadership for the stabilization, and long‑term scaling of a Mexico-based (Guadalajara) offshore Shared Services Center. This role carries end‑to‑end accountability for service delivery, operational excellence, talent development, and stakeholder confidence as the SSC matures into a critical component of the company’s global finance operating model. As a senior finance leader, this role requires the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels, balancing immediate operational stability with longer‑term transformation. The Director will partner closely with U.S.-based Finance leadership while building a strong, locally rooted organization aligned with Mexican labor practices and cultural norms. This position requires bilingual fluency (Spanish/English) and deep experience leading offshore or nearshore finance operations supporting U.S. or global enterprises. Accountabilities Support the Vice President, Regional Finance to: Lead the end‑to‑end stabilization and maturation of the Mexico‑based accounting SSC, from early‑stage build‑out through steady‑state operations Define SSC service scope, operating model, governance structure, and escalation frameworks Develop multi‑year SSC roadmaps aligned with enterprise finance and business strategy and growth plans Serve as the senior‑most SSC leader in Mexico, with full accountability for performance, compliance, and reputation Act as the primary executive interface between the SSC, U.S.-based Finance leadership, and regional stakeholders Lead process transitions from corporate or in‑country teams into the Mexico SSC Ensure operational stability during ramp‑up while progressively improving quality, efficiency, and scalability Establish, monitor, and continuously improve SLAs, KPIs, and service quality metrics Drive strong customer service discipline across all SSC functions Support a disciplined and accelerated monthly close process in a U.S. GAAP / SOX‑controlled environment Ensure timely, accurate, and complete transactional inputs into corporate reporting Partner with Corporate Controllership and FP&A to improve data integrity and close predictability Proactively manage close risks, dependencies, and cross‑border coordination challenges Design and embed a strong control environment from inception, aligned with SOX, audit, and internal policy requirements Ensure consistent execution of internal controls across all SSC processes Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors to support audits and remediation efforts Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, employment regulations, and local statutory requirements in collaboration with HR and Legal Lead SSC‑related process standardization and system enablement (ERP, workflow, close tools) Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives appropriate for SSC maturity (RPA, analytics, AI) Build a continuous improvement culture using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies Standardize documentation, controls, and process governance across the SSC Build, lead, and retain a high‑performing Mexico‑based SSC organization Develop strong local leadership pipelines, including managers and process owners Create clear career paths, training programs, and succession plans to support retention and scalability Foster a strong, inclusive culture that aligns global expectations with local engagement drivers Serve as a strategic advisor to the Vice President, Regional Finance, Controller, and senior Finance leadership Provide transparent and proactive communication on SSC performance, risks, and transformation progress Influence enterprise adoption of the SSC model across business units and geographies Manage expectations during transition phases and drive confidence in offshore delivery Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 12–15+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including senior leadership roles Proven experience building, leading, or transforming a Shared Services Center, preferably Mexico‑based or LATAM offshore Strong command of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls Demonstrated success operating in complex, cross‑border finance environments Deep experience with ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and process automation initiatives Strong understanding of offshore delivery models and stakeholder management Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal) – required ***Please note: This position does not qualify for relocation expenses.*** We are committed to maintaining a drug‑free workplace and are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
