Technical Sales / Business Development Manager - 100% focused on selling to pharmaceuticals Based from: Mexico City, Mexico Region: Latin America / South America Company: US-Based Life Science Manufacturing Company Travel: Extensive International Travel Required (50–60%) Please apply with a English CV Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Sales - Business Development Manager to lead business growth initiatives across the South American life sciences market. Based in Mexico City and working closely with our US headquarters, this role will focus on developing strategic customer relationships, expanding market presence, and driving sales of specialized products and solutions to mainly pharmaceutical customers throughout Latin America. The role will consist of circa 50% Account Management & 50% New business development. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding with commercial sales expertise and is comfortable operating in a highly international, fast-paced environment with significant travel throughout South America. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute regional sales and business development strategies across South America and selected Latin American territories. Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within pharmaceutical sectors. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, channel partners, key accounts, and end users. Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training sessions. Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, quotation development, negotiations, and contract closure. Collaborate with internal engineering, technical support, marketing, and operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project execution. Represent the company at international trade shows, conferences, and industry events. Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer feedback to support strategic planning and product development. Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and territory performance updates for senior management. Support distributor management activities including onboarding, training, and performance evaluation. Ensure compliance with regional regulatory, import/export, and commercial requirements. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, or account management within the life science, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries. Proven success selling technical or scientific products into Latin American markets. Strong understanding of life science research, laboratory workflows, or bioprocessing applications. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Experience working with distributors and international channel partners. Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with US-based leadership and cross-functional teams. Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout South America and internationally. Fluent in Spanish and English required Valid passport and ability to obtain international travel visas as required.
