Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations across plastic injection molding and thermoforming processes. This role ensures efficient production flow, product quality, and team performance while meeting safety, delivery, and cost objectives. The supervisor plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and maintaining stable, capable processes. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily production activities for injection molding and thermoforming operations Ensure production targets (safety, quality, delivery, cost) are consistently achieved Lead, train, and develop a team of operators, technicians, and material handlers Monitor machine performance and production metrics (OEE, scrap, downtime) Ensure proper setups, start‑ups, and process parameter controls are followed Troubleshoot process issues and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime Enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on the shop floor Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve issues and improve processes Maintain adherence to production schedules and customer requirements Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards Process Responsibilities Oversee mold changes, machine setup, and start‑up approvals Ensure correct process parameters (temperature, pressure, cooling time, cycle time) Monitor part quality (flash, short shots, sink marks, burns, warpage) Optimize cycle times and reduce scrap and downtime Ensure proper material handling, drying, and resin control Coordinate preventive maintenance for molds and machines Oversee material preparation and heating processes (plastic sheets, temperature settings) Ensure correct mold setup, forming pressure, and cycle times Monitor product quality (thickness distribution, warping, bubbles, trimming issues) Optimize forming cycles and minimize scrap Ensure proper trimming, finishing, and secondary operations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (preferred) 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in plastic injection molding and/or thermoforming processes a plus Strong leadership and team management skills Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools Ability to read technical drawings and specifications Experience with ERP/MES systems is a plus Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Intermediate to advanced English preferred Legal Statements Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
