The Role The Senior UX/UI Designer is responsible for establishing processes, mentoring other designers, and ensuring our products deliver world-class experiences across multiple international markets. Responsibilities Lead the design of user-centered experiences for PayJoy’s digital products, providing simple and intuitive experiences that delight our customers. Support scaling the UX/UI function by providing structure and strategy as the company grows. Manage and mentor a junior designer, fostering a strong design culture. Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs aligned with business goals and customer needs. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to bring designs to life, balancing user needs with technical constraints. Develop and maintain a scalable design system for consistency across products and markets. Advocate for UX/UI best practices, leveraging data and user insights to improve conversion, engagement, and usability. Iterate on designs based on stakeholder, user, and analytics feedback. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. 5+ years of UI/UX design experience, preferably in fintech, e-commerce, or high-growth tech companies. A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design across multiple markets or diverse user bases. Experience leading and executing design work, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on tasks. Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch). Experience with usability testing and data-driven design decisions. Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Excellent communication skills to articulate design rationale.
