The VO Engineer – HVAC Engine is responsible for driving value optimization initiatives within HVAC & Engine systems under the Propulsion domain. This role focuses on cost optimization, technical benchmarking, system-level improvements, and cross-functional value initiatives , without direct responsibility for detailed parts design or CAD modeling. The position ensures alignment between engineering, purchasing, suppliers, and program teams to deliver cost-effective and performance-optimized solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead Value Optimization (VO) initiatives for HVAC & Engine systems within Propulsion. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities (VA/VE, VAVE, benchmarking). Perform system-level technical analysis to support cost and performance improvements. Evaluate material, process, and supplier alternatives to enhance product value. Support cost breakdown analysis and technical feasibility assessments. Coordinate with Design Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Suppliers. Support BOM reviews and technical change evaluations impacting cost. Drive lessons learned and best practices across HVAC Engine programs. Participate in cross-functional workshops (VAVE events, cost reviews, technical reviews). Support program teams to ensure value targets are achieved within timing and quality constraints. Scope Clarification This role does not include detailed parts design activities such as: CAD modeling (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) CAE modeling (Matlab, Simulink) Direct ownership of part release The role is focused on value optimization and system-level engineering support , not component design ownership.
