About the role We’re seeking a Platform Automation & Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain the Cloud Economics team’s data ingestion and automation platforms. This role blends data engineering, analytical rigour, observability and telemetry analysis, and cloud value management to power the team’s cost transparency, attribution, and optimisation capabilities. In this role, you will: Develop and implement tooling and datasets driving telemetry-driven cost attribution and performance-informed financial modelling so product, engineering, analysts and finance stakeholders can make faster data-driven decisions and trust the data. Build and maintain data pipelines and tooling that provide cost transparency, surface optimisation opportunities, and support committed use discount modelling and management. Must have skills Experience in a FinOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering role. Hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, Scala and workflow orchestration tools like dbt, Airflow & Dagster. FinOps Practitioner or FinOps Engineer certification. Previous experience architecting and enhancing long‑term maintainability of end‑to‑end ELT/ETL data pipelines. Experience with data modelling and schema maturity. Experience with AWS Glue, Aurora, Athena & Snowflake. Exposure to CI/CD development processes and IaC (Terraform). REST API programming experience. Hands‑on experience with AWS, GCP & Datadog platforms and services. Strong attention to detail, analytical skill and comprehensive data auditing and end‑to‑end validation skills.
