Overview Claims Operations & Performance Manager American International Group, Inc. (AIG) is a leading global insurance organization. The Claims function is a partner to the business segments, offering support, expertise, and partnership. The Claims Operations And Performance Manager supports the Head Of Claims by properly managing the following functions that are designed to monitor the claims operation, provide quantitative feedback, and support the development and evaluation of solutions in an iterative and ongoing cycle of continuous improvement of the claims operation. Responsibilities Compliance: ensure the control environment meets high standards established by regulations governing the Claims role; manage and enhance the control framework to empower claims teams. Vendor Management: ensure all Claims vendors have contracts; manage local regulatory requirements (e.g., REPSE) and assess tax-deductibility implications of vendor engagements. First Notice of Loss (FNOL): manage FNOL activity to create capacity within technical handling teams and seek efficiency and automation solutions. Business Analytics: leverage data to assess efficiency of the operation and support informed decisions by claims management; ensure data flow adequacy from source systems. Process Evaluation and Continuous Improvement: evaluate the current operation, define KPI targets, and lead improvement projects with claims management support. Manage anti-money laundering (AML) framework, security information and data protection activities, and related policies and procedures. Quality tools and continuous improvement practices (Industrial Engineering, Lean, Kaizen, etc.). Data management tools (e.g., Excel) and business intelligence solutions (e.g., Power BI). Role Translation into Action Partner with line managers to map operational processes from a compliance and risk management perspective; conduct ongoing preventive assessments and provide feedback to maintain a robust operation. Provide market information on compliance topics (e.g., AML) to support onboarding of complex accounts and ensure local and internal regulatory compliance for suppliers. Manage personnel performing manual data entry in the claims system (FNOL) cost-effectively, balancing human resources with automation and RPA where appropriate. Understand data structures and systems; develop analytics plans for stakeholders and ensure data accuracy to evaluate operation and drive action plans. Design and lead data-driven solutions to address operational deficiencies, aligning with company value-added initiatives and providing insights to management. What We’re Looking For Academic background: Industrial Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Experience: 5 years in Operations, Process, Auditing, or Quality Control in banking, insurance, or financial services; experience in audit-related positions is a plus; familiarity with compliance activities (e.g., Solvency II, governance committees) is a plus; experience with quality control projects and continuous improvement initiatives; process mapping; proficiency with Excel and Power BI. Key soft skills: ability to balance stringent controls with evolving operational needs; strong teamwork, communication, synthesis, and situational leadership.
