Role Purpose Create value through food science know-how in ingredients and additives, building optimization strategies in raw materials to increase margins, optimize usage, diversify sourcing, deal with contingencies, generate and share best practices across all OUs. Key Responsibilities Deep understanding of ingredients/additives functionality and critical performance parameters across categories to optimize different usage in formulations and processes, in alignment with company strategic guidelines. Develop and implement methods that are effective and efficient for the evaluation of functional ingredients that is replicable in the business units, ensuring materials quality and functionality. Identify, define, develop, and coordinate with BUs projects related to GSO (Global Sourcing Organization) to reduce variable cost (i.e. local ingredient projects, global tenders). Discover and develop new suppliers and raw materials, aligned to integral strategic company plan, to diversify sourcing and/or achieve winning formulations. Design and coordinate contingency strategies with BUs to minimize the impact in business results (raw material cost increase or shortage, exchange rate, sociopolitical situations, disruptions in supply chain, supplier failure). Support local R&D; with the development, implementation, and follow-up of strategic projects aligned to company guidelines. Support local R&D, operations, quality and implementation teams when requested, to troubleshoot product production failures or issues in market performance (sensory, shelf‑life or others). Explore future generation ingredients aligned with Research department to determine their potential impact in the business including analysis of technical, economic, and regulative feasibility, including aspects related to consumer. Set global guidelines/policies related to the use of ingredients (market trends, regulatory, allergens, sensitive, etc.) to assure competitiveness in the composition of product formulas. Lead Technological initiatives enabled and powered by AI to create ingredient and formulation frameworks supported by data‑driven protocols to expedite product development cycles. Leverage data‑driven methodologies and analytical tools to guide decision‑making within R&D. Profile Requirements Master's or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in food R&D, analytical science, product/process development in FMCG. Advanced knowledge of food science, ingredient functionality, and product formulation. Familiarity with analytical techniques for ingredient characterization and performance evaluation. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python, Minitab). Strong grounding in scientific methods, experimental design (e.g., Design of Experiments/DoE), and data interpretation. At Sigma, we promote uniqueness. We recognize and celebrate the unique value of people, promoting equal opportunities without discriminating based on political affiliation, culture, age, pregnancy, marital status, gender, nationality, socioeconomic level, maternity, paternity, religion, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, or type of disability. #J-18808-Ljbffr
