Shipping Supervisor Johnson Controls is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to manage the day‑to‑day operations of our shipping department, ensuring timely and efficient processing and shipping of all orders. Responsibilities Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the shipping department. Supervise logistics planners and ensure all orders are processed and shipped in a timely and efficient manner. Communicate directly with OTM planners to ensure correct carrier assignments. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shipping area in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations. Verify orders are complete and meet customer specifications before release. Schedule and assign employees to specific tasks. Train new employees on company policies and procedures. Monitor employee performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed. Handle customer complaints and escalate to management as necessary. Prepare and submit reports on daily activities and metrics. Stay up to date on changes in transportation laws and regulations. Manage inventory of shipping supplies and place orders when necessary. Communicate and coordinate deliveries on SAP. Manage different yard locations. Report and keep record of overtime requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management. Proven leadership and supervisory skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Preferred: Manufacturing experience (HVAC a plus). Strong root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving skills. Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications. Strong desire to learn and benchmark best practices.
