Endpoint Operations Specialist About the Role The Endpoint Operations Specialist is a 2nd-level operational role responsible for the stable, secure, and efficient operation of the endpoint management platforms, with primary focus on Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM). The position executes established platform direction, standards, and architectures defined by the Endpoint Solution Specialists (3rd level). The role ensures consistent deployment, configuration, packaging, and lifecycle maintenance across the device fleet at scale, following agreed processes and governance. The specialist collaborates closely with Solution Specialists to implement technical decisions, perform operational troubleshooting, and maintain platform health. Responsibilities Platform Operations (2nd Level) Operate and maintain Microsoft Intune and SCCM configurations according to standards defined by Solution Specialists. Perform 2nd-level troubleshooting, incident resolution, device compliance investigations, and client health remediation. Maintain deployment collections, baselines, configuration profiles, and monitoring routines. Execute operational tasks such as environment hygiene, distribution point validation, and policy verification. Application Packaging & Deployment Package, test, and validate applications for enterprise-wide deployment following established packaging frameworks and guidelines. Execute deployments, staged rollouts, and update cycles at scale across the device environment. Troubleshoot packaging and deployment issues and escalate systemic issues to Solution Specialists when required. Maintain packaging documentation, versioning, and operational release records. Patch, Update & Compliance Management Execute defined patching strategies for operating systems and applications, including quality updates and feature updates. Maintain and monitor compliance baselines and remediate non-compliance as per operational procedures. Support controlled rollout of updates, validating success rates and addressing deployment anomalies. Monitor endpoint compliance, update health, and enforce configuration standards. Lifecycle & Configuration Execution Carry out device lifecycle processes such as provisioning, Autopilot enrollment, re-provisioning, and decommissioning. Apply and maintain approved configuration baselines, security settings, and endpoint policies. Maintain accurate records of configuration changes, operational procedures, and device states. Collaboration with Solution Specialists (3rd Level) Provide operational insights, incident trends, and stability metrics to Solution Specialists. Participate in discussions on platform improvements and validate proposed solutions through operational testing. Escalate complex issues requiring architectural or design decisions. Ensure alignment with platform direction, supported configurations, and enterprise standards. Continuous operational Improvement Identify and report recurring issues, operational bottlenecks, and opportunities for automation. Suggest improvements to packaging processes, deployment workflows, and operational runbooks. Support modernization initiatives, including transitions toward cloud-first endpoint management models. Qualifications Required Hands-on experience with Intune and SCCM in a structured operational (2nd-level) environment. Strong proficiency in application packaging, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment at scale. Solid understanding of Windows client management, compliance controls, and endpoint configuration standards. Experience in resolving client health issues, configuration conflicts, and deployment failures. Familiarity with ITIL such as incident, problem, and change management. Ability to follow established standards, runbooks, and architectural direction. Structured documentation skills for operational procedures and configuration details. Preferred PowerShell scripting for operational automation and troubleshooting. Experience with Autopilot and cloud-first provisioning workflows. Knowledge of endpoint analytics, logging, and telemetry analysis. Experience working in large enterprise environments with distributed endpoint infrastructures. Readiness for occasional work on shifts. Success Indicators High operational stability and compliance of the endpoint environment.
