Summary Description This position is intended to lead all Access functions in the country and to build up a sustainable business platform that can support Biomarin to successfully launch current and future products. He (she) will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external customers including: BioMarin team (Local TMs, Access persons US and LATAM), individual physicians for institutions, administrative personnel from government offices, hospitals, patient advocacy groups, political persons and KDM’s/KOL´s, etc. This position will support all kinds of processes related to starting a new patient on therapy, keeping a patient on therapy, and ensuring that all documentation, requirements and paperwork are fulfilled to complete the respective approvals. He (she) will maintain very close and strategic relationships with stakeholders for every payer, so that at any moment Biomarin can follow up on each institution (IMSS, ISSSTE, SEGURO POPULAR, SEDENA, MARINA, PEMEX and others). Responsibilities Create and maintain a Strategic Access Plan for all Biomarin products. Execute all activities related to the Strategic Access Plan. Design, prepare, and support tender‑relevant submissions to gain positive outcomes from Common Drug Review, public formularies, and institutional buying groups. Identify, map and manage all KDM’s and their organizational relationships in key stakeholder groups (payer, government, and physicians). Lead all activities for preparation of the dossier (preparation, discussion, analysis, network with medical, Access and Commercial) and internal approval for submission to different Mexican Government authorities. Create and maintain relationships with GEL (IMSS). Manage the process for inclusion of Biomarin products with IMSS. Create and maintain relationships with each state’s REP´s. Recognize the accreditation process for hospitals in S.P. Build strong interpersonal and communications skills to maintain ongoing business relationships with PEMEX (Cureme). Experience with the buy‑up process of ISSSTE. Maintain a strong relationship with KOL´s of ISSSTE. Prepare and send progress reports. Support the commercial area of each state. Assist the commercial partner in negotiations with institutions and states. Education Bachelor and/or MBA (Economist, Administration, Health Sciences, etc). Experience A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Access for LSDs or expensive products. Strong experience in Public Relations, Public Affairs, and Government relationships. In‑house experience at a pharmaceutical/biotechnology organization is strongly preferred. Excellent written, oral, communication, and presentation skills. Basic proficiency in English for communication with internal colleagues in the US. Proven ability to work with all levels of management and commercial sales. Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills. Knowledge and experience preparing and submitting dossiers and state formularies. Ability to review and analyze business and medical data. Proficiency with software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others in addressing complex issues. Motivated, self‑starter with ability to prioritize issues, allocate resources, and make sound decisions independently. Customer‑oriented thinking.
