Mechanical Design Engineer – Manufacturing Automation (NPI) Join our team as a Mechanical Design Engineer in Guadalajara, where you will play a key role in the design, development, and improvement of automated equipment within the NPI (New Product Introduction) environment. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and modifying mechanical designs for automation machinery, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable solutions that support pilot runs and transition to high-volume manufacturing. You will contribute directly to equipment performance by developing mechanical concepts, implementing design improvements, and validating solutions through hands‑on testing. Your work will ensure reliable machine operation, improved product quality, and readiness for production release. Our Team You will be part of the Automation team within the NPI area, working closely with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Product Engineering, and global design teams. The team focuses on developing, refining, and transferring automated equipment to production, ensuring mechanical robustness, process reliability, and continuous improvement. What You Will Do Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and automation equipment using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar). Create 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly. Lead mechanical modifications and improvements to NPI equipment to optimize performance and manufacturability. Support pilot runs by analyzing equipment behavior, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing design changes. Collaborate with machine shops and suppliers to fabricate and validate mechanical components and fixtures. Perform root cause analysis related to mechanical failures and implement corrective design solutions. Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into automated equipment. Support installation, setup, and validation of automation equipment in production environments. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and quality. Document mechanical designs, changes, and standard operating procedures to ensure proper knowledge transfer. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automation equipment or manufacturing environments. Strong experience in 3D mechanical design tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA (conceptualization to documentation). Hands‑on experience supporting or working with automated equipment in production or NPI environments. Strong English communication skills, with frequent interaction with global teams. Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to mechanical systems. What Will Put You Ahead Experience designing automation equipment, fixtures, or machinery for manufacturing processes. Exposure to NPI environments and transitioning equipment from pilot to production. Basic knowledge of PLCs, motion systems, or vision systems (Cognex or similar). Experience collaborating with global engineering teams and external suppliers. Understanding of manufacturing processes in electronics or high‑tech industries. Ability to work hands‑on with equipment, including installation, adjustments, and validation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
