Job Description The Steam Turbine Engineering team develops and designs highly efficient turbomachines through the latest engineering sciences and disciplines integrated with digital technologies. The team seeks new talent to join and ensures a highly empowered environment across the full product lifecycle. The Lead Engineer – Steampath will work closely with internal partners, interfacing with other teams such as structures, rotor, thermodynamics, rotodynamic teams, manufacturing, and the people on site, playing a central role in the timely and successful execution of projects worldwide. Primary task is to design project specific steampath components (buckets and nozzles) and perform rotor calculations for combined cycle steam turbines, as well as supporting junior Steampath engineers in their daily work and development. Roles and Responsibilities Own Steampath bucket/blade component design in execution of OTR activities for new units Implement technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life standpoint Collaborate with global & cross‑functional teams of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers. Support junior steampath engineers in their daily work and development Lead and review engineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all required CTQs Support RTS and NPI activities as required Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation Apply fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college Engineering experience in Steam Turbine design and/or operability and familiarity with Steam Turbine component design/operability design process, tools, and procedures. Proficiency in English. Desired Characteristics Finite Element Analysis and/or CFD capability Basic technical understanding of Steam Turbine, Gas Turbine or other turbomachinery products Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, & collaboration skills Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and work cross‑functionally with multiple engineering teams Strong analytical skills working independently and in a team environment Experience in Steam Turbine rotating component design, including ST rotating and stationary bucket/blade designs, design process & procedures Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including forgings, machining, and factory assembly/testing practices, specifically for power generation equipment Second language preferred, such as German, French, Spanish, or Polish We will not sponsor any working visa.
