Responsibilities Supports design, execution, and improvements of complex integration processes; mentors junior team members and may have a limited number of direct reports, always fueled by a passion for data. Independently lead and execute complex data engineering projects, design end‑to‑end processes for converting and using external digital sources in the creation and maintenance of HERE databases and related products. Leverage data engineering technologies such as AWS Services, FME, ArcGIS, Python, SQL, QGIS, and others to transform and integrate complex data or create products. Assess and manage risks of complex bulk integration efforts, acknowledging that higher data volumes increase risk. Provide extensive GIS and spatial data consultancy, especially focused on bulk source integration efforts and process improvements. Identify improvement and innovation opportunities and, when applicable, drive them into the organization, addressing any resistance that arises. Adopt a mature engineering and consultancy mindset with a focus on value and cost efficiency; deliver the required end result, not necessarily the initially requested solution. Maintain a strong understanding of relevant technologies and initiatives, and in‑depth knowledge of HERE database content, product specifications, and the tools used for database creation and maintenance. Develop broad experience across projects and processes; re‑engineer new process workflows when needed. Act with empathy and integrity among inter‑departmental peers so that Data Integration insights and advice reach target stakeholders, leveraging a developed internal network and a holistic end‑to‑end perspective. Detect problems with data conversion, bulk updates, or map databases and take corrective action. Mentor and support junior GIS Data Engineers. Qualifications Any postgraduate or graduate degree preferred in computer science, geodesy, geography, or a related field. 3+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification desired. Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS & FME, or similar spatial tools. Strong familiarity with programming and scripting (SQL, Python) and the ability to learn other tools and languages. Demonstrated experience with AWS Services. Mastery of GIS data engineering tools and processes. Ability to customize solutions outside of off‑the‑shelf tools and solve very complex data problems. Understanding and ability to write into formats such as XML, PostgresDB, GeoJSON, LRP, and FGDB. Experience with the HERE databases and products. Fluent communication in English.
