Overview We are QST Solutions, formerly Wabash Technologies de México, a manufacturing company based in Mexicali specializing in automotive electronic components and sensing technologies. Our operations focus on the manufacturing of speed, position, and magnetic sensor solutions used in the automotive industry worldwide. What are we looking for? The Direct Material Purchasing Specialist is responsible for creating and executing sourcing strategies, identifying cost‑saving projects and resource optimization opportunities through negotiation or engineering changes, while also ensuring the proper performance of the supply chain and measuring and analyzing financial risks with suppliers. Activities of the position Prepare and maintain purchase orders. Resolve invoices with price discrepancies. Create and execute sourcing strategies. Analyze and identify potential financial risks within the supply chain. Identify cost‑saving projects such as negotiations, VE (Value Engineering), VA (Value Analysis), etc. Support the Materials Planning department with escalations during critical supply situations. Measure and improve supplier performance (quality, deliveries, commercial terms, etc. – Supplier Scorecards). Implement VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) programs and direct material storage solutions. Update the vendor information in ERP system. Qualifications Engineering, Business Administration, or any relevant or equivalent experience as Buyer, Commodity Specialist, or Sourcing Specialist. Strongly knowledgeable in Excel from MS Office, ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or any other). Fluent in English spoken. 3 years of experience in similar roles. Teamwork, self‑driven, and responsible. Client care‑oriented or customer service experience.
