About The Role As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of a global engineering team developing advanced embedded control solutions for Carrier’s products. This role plays a key part in designing and developing firmware that integrates embedded systems with cloud, mobile, and IoT technologies to deliver innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop embedded software for Carrier’s equipment and refrigeration control systems. Design and implement firmware solutions for embedded platforms. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing. Participate in Agile software development processes. Lead or support development projects and technical initiatives. Develop prototype and test software for validation purposes. Write software specifications and test plans. Participate in design reviews, code inspections, and risk analysis activities. Support system integration and ensure compliance with requirements. Balance responsibilities between sustaining and new product development projects. Requirements We are looking for people who are innovative, detail‑oriented, and passionate about embedded systems and technology development. If this is you, get in touch. As a Minimum You Must Have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience in embedded software development. Strong programming skills in C and/or C++. Experience working with Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS). Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232, RS485). Experience in software architecture, debugging, and design patterns. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have Experience with connectivity protocols (WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z‑Wave). Experience with Embedded Linux. Experience with ARM microcontrollers. Knowledge of configuration and version control systems (e.g., GitHub). Experience with Model‑Based Development (IBM Rhapsody, MATLAB/Stateflow). Experience in HVAC or refrigeration systems.
