Job Description The Plant IT Lead serves as the TGS representative responsible for partnering with local Plant Managers and leadership teams to drive and shape demands for new requests and ensure day‑to‑day manufacturing and quality operations are supported by TGS‑supported technologies. The role is accountable for delivering the full portfolio of manufacturing‑specific TGS work on time, within budget, and in compliance. It includes managing escalation, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing strategic thought leadership around Industry4.0 and Smart Factory opportunities. Responsibilities Partner with plant operations teams to understand their day‑to‑day operational technology challenges and strategic priorities. Develop deep knowledge of the local manufacturing environment, including drivers, roadmaps, processes, and key personnel. Earn a value‑adding, strategic partner relationship with Plant management, regional Plant IT, and the entire TGS function. Plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and align them with roadmaps and priorities. Measure and communicate the value realized from TGS investments through defined metrics and analysis. Serve as the single focal point for site leadership, TGS corporate, InfoSec, and managed vendors. Identify and define new opportunities to leverage technology or process redesign for cost optimization, risk mitigation, and compliance. Lead and guide the local IT team and outsourced support staff to meet operational needs. Ensure delivery of solutions aligns with BD’s enterprise roadmaps and is not siloed. Communicate status, manage escalation, and mitigate risk for projects and initiatives. Build knowledge and capability in manufacturing technologies and emerging trends, keeping abreast of industry developments. Account for lifecycle management of infrastructure, applications, and services at the site. Support ISC teams when rolling out new solutions to create a long‑term sustainable IT‑OT ecosystem. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in a technology function. Experience across multiple manufacturing process and technology capabilities. Experience managing and leading service providers remotely. Familiarity with continuous improvement and project management approaches, tools, and phases. Experience working in a highly matrixed organization. Preferred: Experience in the medical device sector across manufacturing technologies. Additional Information For most roles, a minimum of 4 days of in‑office presence per week is required.
